For the 2018-2019 tourist season, GIE NIOKOLO has identified an ornithological loop walk in the community forest of of Diambour. The walk proceeds along the motorable (but little used) dirt track going toward Tenghoto, which can be reached (Coordinates: 13,322 ; -13,283) in less than 10 min. by walking north from the traditional village of Dialacoto. After about 2.5 km at the farthest limit of the walk, you will turn right to walk along the fenced property of the Sodefitex company (Coordinates: 13,338 ; -13,274) and return to the starting point by one of the other available dirt tracks. Click HERE for an interactive map showing the itinerary and describing the different biotopes and species to be seen.

This easy but unmarked loop of 2½ to 3 hrs holds no particular dangers, but it will be difficult for you to recognise the faune, the flore and the notable sites if you undertake it alone. The guides of GIE NIOKOLO are ready to accompany you - contact them at info(at)niokolo-safari.com or at the entrance to Niokolo-Koba National Park at Dar Salam which is 10 km from Dialacoto.
